“Hello, I am Ruth Joas, or fondly known in the Catholic schools as Mrs. J.
I consider myself a walking miracle. 32 years ago, I was in a life-changing car accident caused by a drunk driver. I was told I would never walk again. Thankfully God had better plans for my life.
I raised my daughter as a single mom and met and married my soul mate Roger, and moved to Stockbridge. In 2015 I found a rewarding career in the school system, which I truly love. I joined the Stockbridge school system as a volunteer library aide, and tutored kindergarten students.
My role as an educator was born! In 2016 I was hired as a special education aide, teaching the ABC's and sight words to young learners and in 2017 became the lunch lady at St. Mary's School in Hilbert.
Soon another gift was sent to me from God and I became the supervisor of the Extended Care program here, at St. John-Sacred Heart Catholic School.
I count my blessings daily. I believe learning and life should be filled with fun and laughter."
